Installation of a Fortified Roof by Burks Construction, a certified Fortified contractor approved by the Insurance Institute for Business and Home Safety (IBHS), which includes:
Better Deck Attachment: 8D ring-shank nails with less space between nails can double the uplift the roof can withstand.
Sealed Deck Seams: Sealing the seams of the roof deck can reduce water-intrusion by up to 95%.
Locked Down Edges: Roof damage often begins when wind gets underneath the roof edge. A wider drip edge and a fully adhered starter strip create a stronger edge system for vulnerable roof eaves and edges.
Impact-Resistant Shingles: Shingles are tested by IBHS to show they can withstand hail up to 2 inches in diameter, in hail prone areas.
Wind and Rain-Resistant Attic Vents: Attic vents that are wind and rain resistant better protect the home, since high winds can pull typical attic vents loose during severe weather.
